Hampton's unique behavioral management system helps to promote social and academic skills. This is made possible
by certified teachers and staff members who are experts in working with young people.
In traditional classrooms, students--whose intellectual capabilities range from below to above average--learn grade-level
academics along with basic living skills. Our program includes art therapy, counseling, behavioral health consultation, family and group
therapy. Students also learn health and employment orientation. They may select elective courses that match their evolving interests.
Recent electives have included courses in art, cooking, sewing, cosmetology, weight lifting and drivers education.
There is also a work-study
option for high school seniors.
To help cultivate the students' diverse interests, we encourage them to participate in clubs and extracurricular
activities, including interscholastic events in their resident districts. In addition to classroom activities, we host field trips
and other community-based programs.
